After training at the #1 pharmacy school in the U.S. at the time, University of California San Francisco, and furthering my clinical skills at University of Nebraska Medical Center, General Pharmacy Practice Residency, I was recruited to build the first clinical pharmacist-led clinic in partnership with social services and nursing for Kaiser Permanente Medical Group.
Together we were successful in saving ER and hospital utilization costs through multi-disciplinary cross-functional services by improving the quality-of care patient's received.
Like anything newly developed, the first of it's kind, the use of co-creativity, intuitive design and strategy was instrumental in getting physician buy in, building a cohesive cross-functional team, and identifying the critical needs of patients that would change the trajectory of their medical condition(s) for the better.
After a decade of services in direct patient care, I was called to the pharmaceutical industry for another decade, Genentech- a biotech/pharma company in Silicon Valley and eventually short time at Aimmune Therapeutics.
There I became an authentically empowered leader, transforming the medical education team to an integrated unit, building a patient-centered educational strategy producing positive impact by stewarding a $25 million budget.
In the midst of all this success, I felt the nudge that I was to do something else that was bigger than me in 2013. I didn't know what it was exactly. Over time I heard an inner voice that said, you need to figure out how to make professional and personal decisions based on your gut instincts. My struggle was that I didn’t know how to do it intentionally in a step-by-step process.
In 2017, I started working with Peggy Nagae, a heart-centered executive leadership coach. It was the first introduction of what I needed, which led to additional training with a spiritual life coach in 2020.
By this time, I was asking for more time, space, and resources to formally develop my intuitive skills. By mid-2020, at the start of the Covid-19 global pandemic, my request was answered through a pandemic impacted company lay-off. Be careful what you wish for definitely crossed my mind! While scary at the time, it was exactly what I needed.
In August 2020, Oh Universe, LLC was an idea born into a dream reality. I continue to develop my intuitive business & coaching skills through MaryAnn Dimarco, an internationally-recognized psychic medium, author, healer, and spiritual teacher.
