Weekly lessons, practices, and tips
I tried & It didn’t Work
Have you intentionally worked hard to listen to what you desire and actively planned every step to find that it has failed? Or that you’ve failed. A member of my Oh Universe community mentioned that she has tried and is not sure everyone can have it all “lined up” as I have in my quest to make my desires a reality. The key is making sure that you are listening to the internal narrative of your inner GPS aka your intuition. It’s easy to get mixed up with your EgoN, thinking that it’s your Inner Authentic Voice whispering to you. Tune in to find out how to listen and receive what is intended for you to succeed
Manage Fear-Based Leaders
Are you working in a corporate environment where your leaders dictate what you should and shouldn’t be doing because they are coming from a place of fear? I’ve personally experienced working with leaders who make fear-based decisions leading their teams down a miserable path of stressful demands that is not serving the company in the best way. Now I’m working as a consultant helping and supporting teams and individuals working for pharmaceutical companies. They, too, are experiencing the joys of working with fear-based leaders. It’s definitely not fun. Learn what you can do to manage the situation in this week’s Vlog.
Stop the Worry about Financial Security
I’ve been on a rollercoaster of worry, feeling misaligned and as a result stuck in non-creativity, because I can’t hear my Inner Authentic Voice. What’s got me worried, you may ask? Well, I’ll share with you that it’s about financial security and having enough cushion. What’s actually enough? It’s different for each one of us. Maybe it’s the childhood experience where I lived and felt my own mom’s worry about financial insecurity that I continue to struggle with it today. No matter what, we’ve always had enough, more than enough. So, you may ask what do you do about the worry so that you can move forward? Well, Listen in.
know your self worth
When working in the corporate world full-time and striving for external power, I associated my self-worth with the position I held, the salary I earned, the awards I received or didn’t receive, and the nod of approval from my boss. Does this sound familiar to you? It’s so easy to get caught up with the way corporate America is designed. Great leaders decide who exceeds expectations, who meets expectations, or even worse, who doesn’t meet expectations. Your promotions, salaries, and bonuses reflect whether you were performing really well or less than. Your self-worth becomes defined by all these external factors, and whether you feel good or bad about yourself is dictated by someone else. Check out this week’s Vlog on how to define your own self-worth.
Stop Grasping, Be Patient, & Look Back
I was connecting with a close family friend the other day and he was sharing with me that he was feeling this internal panic that he needed to make a decision today about a career move that he’s been thinking about. There was this sense of urgency that a decision needed to be made yesterday. It just seemed like it was time to make the next career move. I could relate. When you feel like you’re not getting the answers to your question about what to do next, it’s easy to start grasping for solutions when you feel panicked. What comes to mind is who can I call to help me, who is smarter than me and would have the answers, or let’s google the answer. Does this sound familiar to you? Check out this week’s Vlog on how to handle grasping for answers. Follow the link in bio to view the full video on my Find Your True North Vlog
GET MOVING!
Growing up I was always playing sports whether it was running track, playing softball or my favorite was playing point guard on the basketball team. I know it’s rather hard to believe at my height. In adulthood, working out became going to Gold’s gym after work, then learning to play tennis, trying out ClassPass, then buying a home pilates machine to now using the Mirror at home. It was hard to stick to something that motivated me to continue working out. I knew it was good for me but why was it really? besides trying to lose weight or prevent the weight gain we often see as we get older. I’ve found a good reason why it’s important to stay physically active. It’s my deep desire to be able to hear my IAV. A sedentary lifestyle only dampens my ability to hear it. Tune in to learn why and how to stay motivated to be active.

Part II: What Chef Bailey Discovered
Last week I introduced you to a great Netflix recommendation, Chef Mashama Bailey’s story on the Chef’s Table series. It was based on a request for more real-life examples on how you find your true North through the power of your IAV. In this episode, I’m going to provide the answers to the first 5 questions I asked you to consider when watching the episode. Let’s see how many of the questions you got right.
Part I: Finding your True North Watching Netflix
I heard from one of our Hello, Oh Universe community members that she loved the previous Vlog episode on the 7 Key takeaways from Jamie Kern Lima’s journey on tapping into her inner knowing to find IT Cosmetics. I hear you want more real-life stories as tangible examples. I’ve got a great recommendation for you that meets this request and is entertaining! Check out Chef’s Table from 2019, Vol 6 on Chef Mashama Bailey’s journey to finding her true North in Savannah Georgia. I challenge you to watch the episode and to answer the following questions. I’ll be revealing the answers to the 10 questions in the next two episodes. Let’s see if you can identify all the key points.
What’s frequency got to do with it?
I’ll admit I’ve been avoiding sharing this topic with you because it’s uncomfortable, and I’m embarrassed to admit it.
It’s about judgment. When we actually pause and reflect on our thoughts, we can actually start to see how much we can judge others. It’s so easy to do and oftentimes have done subconsciously. I grew up with parents who routinely judged others. It’s a common practice in our culture.
Judgement of others is self-judgement

DO WE REALLY HAVE TO TALK ABOUT FEELINGS?
Feelings, Yikes, we actually need to talk about our feelings. Generally, growing up in an Asian family, you don’t particularly talk about how you feel. I grew up in a Chinese Indonesian family and was lucky enough to have parents who gave us big hugs, told us how much they loved us and how proud they were of my sister and me. We actually did talk about our feelings
I Am A Skeptic! What Does My IAV Sound Like?
I’m hearing the same question from my Oh Universe community, what does your Inner Authentic Voice (IAV) sound like? It’s a difficult question to answer with a concrete description. How would you answer this question in 1 sentence?
THE POWER OF JOURNALING
Have you ever heard it’s good to journal? Or has someone ever told you, “you should journal it’s good for you”? Growing up, I watched the TV show Gidget played by Sally Field, who writes in her diary. I can still hear her voice in my head, “Dear Diary.”
The Nagging Whisper You Can't Shake
Are you hearing a whisper 💬 that there is something else you should be doing, but staying put because you don't know where to head next?Tune in to hear a way to find your true North with intent and tools.
Culture/Society vs Authentic Self
Celebrating is important. It raises your joy and therefore your energy--as a result hearing your IAV becomes much clearer and louder. A good voice to be able to hear and follow.
I traded my career for my vocation
You may be struggling in your career either because you are finding you are not fulfilled, feeling frustrated, undervalued, overworked or you’ve been recently laid off, or maybe feeling stuck on which way to go with your career or job. In this episode, I’ll help you distinguish which type of role you’re in so that you can head to your true North with ease and reassurance.
Why $1.6B is not what matters: trust your IAV
You may feel stuck and if you’re lucky you have this inner voice or nudge telling you “not this”, “there’s something else”, or “I know I’m made for more”, but you’re not sure which way to go or what to do next and you’re constantly hearing the chatter of your ego narrative (aka EgoN), filling your internal dialogue with fear-based self-limiting thoughts which creates self-doubt and uncertainty, then this episode is for you.
This overlooked tool will help you stop feeling "ugh"
